Monday night’s episode of Dancing With the Stars was one the most emotional episodes as Selma Blair and Sasha Farber bid farewell to the competition.

Selma Blair informed her partner via a pre-recorded message that she was unable to continue owing to multiple sclerosis-related health issues. The duo also hugged each other tightly as they watched the video from inside the ballroom.

In the video, she said, “I had these MRIs and the results came back and it just all adds up to… I can’t go on with the competition. With a chronic illness, you do have special considerations, and my body is definitely taking a hit. It’s way too much for the safety of my bones. There’s just intensive bone trauma and inflammation … I could do extensive damage that, of course, I do not want.”

Following her unexpected exit, all celebrities and judges lined up to hug Selma Blair before she left. The entire ballroom was emotional and the pair danced What the World Needs Now before they left.

In an interview with Variety, Selma Blair also said, “From day one of joining this show and knowing Sasha before that some, this has been such an awakening in ways that I didn’t think would happen in my lifetime.”

She is a true inspiration. She has not only inspired me but so many people around the world. And I’m saying the world not just America because we’ve been getting so much support from overseas.
