British-American television personality Sharon Osbourne broke her silence about exiting from the chat show ‘The Talk’. Osbourne opened up about her exit in the show ‘Real Time with Bill Maher’ on Friday. During this chat in the show with Bill Maher, Osbourne told that she was upset with how the controversy unfolded. “I’m angry, I’m hurt”, said Osbourne on how she felt about her exit from The Talk.

“I’ve been called so many things in my life… but a racist is one thing I will not take”, said Osbourne. Her departure from the chat show, which came after the series extended its hiatus for the second time, was announced by CBS on March 26, reported ‘People’. The network looked into her behaviour after controversy sparked following her defence of Piers Morgan on the March 10 episode. 

CBS in a statement said that Osbourne’s behoviour had not aligned with their values. “Sharon Osbourne has decided to leave The Talk,” the statement further read. “The events of the March 10 broadcast were upsetting to everyone involved, including the audience watching at home. As part of our review, we concluded that Sharon’s behavior toward her co-hosts during the March 10 episode did not align with our values for a respectful workplace.”

The statement further continued, “We also did not find any evidence that CBS executives orchestrated the discussion or blindsided any of the hosts,” the statement continued. “At the same time, we acknowledge the Network and Studio teams, as well as the showrunners, are accountable for what happened during that broadcast as it was clear the co-hosts were not properly prepared by the staff for a complex and sensitive discussion involving race.”.
