Sidharth Shukla, television actor and Big Boss 13 winner,
died on Thursday and his post mortem report is currently awaited. While the
cause of the actor’s death remains unknown, Cooper Hospital in Mumbai, where
the 40-year-old actor was brought, issued a statement saying, “He was brought
dead to the hospital. The cause of the death will be known after the post-mortem
is conducted…it will take some time”.

Initial media reports suggested that Sidharth Shukla had died
of a heart attack. However, police sources and hospital authorities have both
confirmed that the cause of the actor’s death remains to be discovered. Mumbai
Police told news agency ANI that no injuries were sustained on the body of
actor Sidharth Shukla. The cause of death is yet to be ascertained. A police
team is at the actor’s residence for investigation.

Sidharth Shukla rose to fame for his role in the popular
television show
“Balika Vadhu”. His character as District Collector Shivraj
Shekhar, opposite Pratyusha Banerjee and Toral Rasputra in the show effectively
transformed his career. Subsequently, Sidharth Shukla’s portrayal of Shiv in a
Colors TV social drama series earned the actor widespread recognition.

Shukla has also participated in several reality television
shows
such as “Bigg Boss”, “Khatron ke Khiladi” and “Jhalak Dikhla Jaa”. In his
Bigg Boss stint, Sidharth Shukla won the 13th edition of the show. He was also
rated one of the most popular contestants of the show. He ranked number one
throughout the 20 week the show ran on TV.

Shukla was recently seen in “Broken But Beautiful” — a web
series. The series was one of the most-anticipated web series of the year and
it was Shukla’s debut in the OTT space.

In 2014, Sidharth Shukla made his Bollywood debut in “Humpty
Sharma Ki Dulhania” in a supporting role. He played the character of Angad
Bedi, an NRI doctor and fiancé of the female protagonist Alia Bhatt.
