With an all-star ensemble, extravagant action scenes, and a tonne of mystery, the Russo Brothers’ latest international action film is making a splash this summer.

Based on the 2009 book of the same name by Mark Greaney, The Gray Man tells the story of CIA mercenary Court Gentry, also known as Sierra Six (Ryan Gosling), who unwittingly discovers the agency’s sinister secrets. His revelation makes him a target, and there are practically no places on the globe where he can hide from the group of international assassins that is chasing him, including Lloyd Hansen (Chris Evans).

After directing four Marvel films, including ‘Avengers: Endgame’, ‘Anthony’ and Joe Russo’s ‘The Gray Man’ has been anticipated by fans since the movie’s 2020 announcement. The action epic is reportedly one of Netflix’s most costly projects to date, costing over $200 million.

Date and Time 

‘The Gray Man’ will be released in theatres throughout the world starting on July 15. It will, however, make its online streaming debut on Netflix by next week. Beginning on July 22, 2022, all customers will be able to watch the movie from their own homes.

Following its release, ‘The Gray Man’ will be available to all Netflix subscribers to view on the service. 

There might be a part two of the film

Netflix has not yet made an official announcement regarding ‘The Gray Man’ sequel. However, Deadline reported that the streaming giant anticipates ‘The Gray Man’ to kick off a new franchise based on Mark Greaney’s book series when the movie was initially announced in 2020. Greaney has now released 11 Gray Man books, and another one will be released in 2023.

Also in an interview, Joe Russo said, “What we’re doing on Gray Man that’s different [is]… we’re not gonna answer every question in the first movie”.
