During the high-profile Depp v Heard trial, Amber Heard’s former husband, Johnny Depp, found support from a surprising source as one of Heard’s friends aligned with his side due to her lack of witnessing any signs of Heard’s injuries.

In 2016, the ex-couple decided to part ways, triggering a highly contentious breakup that eventually escalated into a legal confrontation. Heard asserted that Depp had been physically violent and abusive.

In the recording, she even taunted the “Pirates of the Caribbean” actor, expressing doubt that anyone would believe a man of his stature could be abused by a woman like her. A friend of Heard’s, Laura Divenere, took a surprising stance by supporting Depp. Divenere, who had been both Heard’s interior decorator and friend, according to court documents acquired by the Blast, testified that she had never observed any injuries on Heard. As reported by Fox News, Divenere shared, “I was with Amber and interacted with her frequently on the several days immediately following her abuse allegation… including at least on May 23, 24, 25.”

During the trial, Depp’s legal team additionally contended that Heard had fabricated bruises to secure a temporary restraining order against Depp. Divenere also disclosed that she had never been privy to any allegations of domestic violence from either Heard or Depp. In stark contrast to Heard’s assertions of victimhood, Divenere asserted that it was, in fact, Heard who exhibited abusive behavior toward her staff.

“I personally witnessed Amber exhibiting verbal aggression towards her former assistant Kate, resorting to phone screams,” Divenere revealed. Within court documentation, Depp had also asserted that Heard had a history of violent conduct. Notably, in 2009, she was arrested for assaulting her then-girlfriend Tasya Van Ree.
