Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is scheduled to release worldwide on November 11. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is the sequel to the much-successful 2018 film Black Panther and this movie will be the last Marvel phase four release. The sequel follows the story of the Wakandans as they strive to keep their nation safe from intervening powers, while they grieve their king T’Challa’s death. The plot was originally centered around T’Challa, but it had to be changed post the death of Boseman in August 2020.

Letitia Michelle Wright, a Guyanese-British actress has played the role of Shuri in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

Who is Shuri?

Shuri was born in 1998 and was the youngest child of King T’Chaka and Queen Ramonda. Shuri is the Princess of Wakanda and the leader of the Wakandan Design Group.

Shuri possesses a very high level of intellect and incredible engineering skills and she developed a lot of Wakanda’s contemporary technology, like the Wakandan Maglev Train. She is also credited for creating the current generation of Panther Habits.

Shuri has a playful personality and she teases her father King T’Challa and pays little attention to decorum and formalities in the king’s palace. Despite her playful attitude, she cares deeply about her family and worries a lot about her brother’s safety.

Shuri is a true technological genius who uses the supply of the rare metal Vibranium to enhance her nation. She believes there is no limit to how much technology may be improved, thus she is constantly prepared to make further advancements.

Shuri is a big fan of American culture and many of her ideas and inventions appear to have been directly influenced by American films that she used to watch with her father. She wears American-style apparel and dislikes traditional ceremonial clothing and is also very interested in social media.

Shuri’s Power and Abilities 

Shuri invented Vibranium Gauntlets that were designed to look like panther heads with the energy emitting out of the mouth like a panther’s roar. She used this gauntlet whenever she went to any war. Shuri is an extraordinary scientist and being the head of Wakanda’s scientific branch, she is a specialist in engineering, physics, chemistry, medicine, and computer programming. 

She is also an excellent fighter and is fluent in her native Xhosa, as well as English. Shuri is a skilled shooter who can deliver pinpoint blasts of sonic energy from her Vibranium Gauntlets. She was able to hit numerous targets with the gauntlets during the Battle of Earth and the Battle of Mount Bashenga.
