Veteran Bollywood actor Naseeruddin Shah is not new to controversies. The veteran had landed into trouble for passing sensitive remarks in the past as well. The actor is once again receiving backlash online after he called Mughals refugees in a recent interview and is now getting trolled by the social media users.

In September, Naseeruddin Shah had earned both bouquets and brickbats on social media for his views on the Taliban. Now, the veteran actor is making headlines for claiming that Mughals came to India to make it their homeland.

In a video, Naseeruddin Shah can be heard saying, “The so-called atrocities of the Mughals are being highlighted all the time. We forget that the Mughals are people who have contributed to the country. They are people who have left lasting monuments in the country, who have left the tradition of dancing, music, painting, literature. Mughals came here to make this their homeland. You can call them refugees if you like.”

With this remark, the actor is being brutally trolled on social media.

While one social media said, “Why this relentless obsession with invaders? A new low – ‘Mughals are refugees’…(sic).” Another wrote, “He has lost his senses, need not take him seriously. Our country is filled with thankless people & he is one of them. #naseeruddinshah #senseless (sic).”
