A number of Reliance Jio users in Mumbai have been unable to make or receive calls. Users said on Twitter they have also been unable to access internet services, with a message of “not registered on network” popping up while making phone calls. 

Users have also said that those with non-Jio networks are unable to call Jio numbers. The affected region reportedly includes all of Mumbai as well as Thane, Kalyan and Dombivali, according to the Indian Express. 

One user wrote on Twitter, “Jio Mobile Network is down for everyone in Mumbai today. It seems @JioCare. Any other cities too?” 

Another user added, “Worst Network Reliance jio 4G.No network,no voice ,call not connecting ,not reachable. What happened sir about your promise?”

Responding to this, the Twitter handle of Jio Care wrote, “Hi, our team is always here for you. Kindly DM your Jio number and alternate number to assist you further.”

One user joked, “Jio Network Down @reliancejio Did they hire @Infosys ?”

Another user stated, “#Jio is down in Mumbai Circle today, Users are not even able to make a single call or use 0.10 MB of Their cellular data, many users have been disrupted by this outage, many are unable to do their work. #Jio #JioDown. This is a major downfall from the company.”

The disruption has become a laughing stock on the internet, with many Twitter users sharing memes and jokes. 

The telecommunications company is yet to issue a statement for the same.

Other users have also reported a similar issue with Airtel network in the city.

According to News 9, several other states have also reported an outage. A Twitter user stated, “Jio services down In Delhi!”

In the meanwhile, Jio users can either use an alternative number or a nearby WiFi network for communication. One can also use web-based call services like Whatsapp Calls.
