Sonali Phogat’s body had “blunt force injuries,” according to
her post mortem report which came out Thursday. Sonali Phogat, a 42-year-old BJP
leader
, died Tuesday morning in Goa where she had gone as part of a group. “There
are multiple blunt force injuries over the body. In view of the above, the
manner of death is for the investigating officer to ascertain,” the post-mortem
report said, NDTV reported.

Hours before the release of the Phogat’s post-mortem report, Goa
police registered a murder case against two of her associates. “Murder case
registered against two persons in Anjuna PS, probe on. The deceased’s brother
has mentioned the involvement of her PA and one other person,” said Inspector
General OS Bishnoi.

Earlier, Sonali Phogat’s brother, Rinku Phogat, had earlier said
the BJP leader had been threatened and was scared. “Something had been added to
her food after she complained of restlessness. It’s a murder…I want justice for
her,” Rinku Phogat told ANI.

The two people against whom murder charges have been filed are:
Sudhir Sangwan, Sonali Phogat’s personal assistant; and Sukhwinder Wasi, her
friend. Both of them were with Sonali Phogat when she arrived in Goa Monday.

According to Sonali’s brother Rinku Phogat, his sister had been
raped and murdered by Sudhir Sangwan and Sukhwinder. Rinku, in his complaint,
said Sonali Phogat had spoken to her mother, sister and brother-in-law a few
hours before her death
wherein she had allegedly complained against her staff.

Sonali Phogat was a popular TikTok personality once and had even
made an appearance on Bigg Boss 14. She began her career as an anchor in Hisar
Doordarshan but later went on to pursue acting. Phogat had worked with actors
such as Jimmy Shergill and Ravi Kishan. Sonali Phogat had unsuccessfully
contested the Adampur Assembly elections in 2019.
