Renowned Kannada radio jockey RJ Rachana died at the age of 39 on Tuesday due to a cardiac arrest. According to reports, the 39-year-old died on her way to the hospital after experiencing chest pain and discomfort.  

A resident of JP Nagar in Bengaluru, RJ Rachana rose to prominence for her gripping voice and oration. 

After working with Radio Mirchi for a while, RJ Rachana quit her job, battling depression along the way. She also featured in the Kannada romantic comedy, ‘Simpleagi Ondu Love Story’. Released in 2013, the film starred Rakshit Shetty, Shwetha Srivatsav, Srinagar Kitty, and Rachna Banerjee. 

Deemed as physically fit due to her extensive fitness routine, the RJ never experienced major health concerns.

Several public figures sent their condolences on social media. Sharing a picture with RJ Rachana, RJ Pradeep wrote, “May your soul rest in peace RJ Rachana. She was definitely one of the best Jock of Namma Bengaluru. Heart attack at this young age. What is happening.”

Former RJ and actor Sujatha Akshaya shared a few images on her Instagram handle and wrote, “Not able to believe. Om shanti. Will always remember our friendship Racchu.”

 “She was one of my favorite RJ. Very sensible, her command over language was too good. I have never met her in person before. Feeling disheartened to say that I will never get a chance to meet her in the future. Very very sad to know that she is no more,” wrote actor Swetha Chengappa on Instagram. 

RJ Rachana’s remains will be taken to her parent’s residence in Chamrajpete, Bengaluru.
