Kili Paul, an Instagram sensation from Tanzania known for his amazing dancing and lip-syncing videos to popular Bollywood songs, was attacked by five individuals while defending himself.

Kili posted about the incident on his Instagram Story saying “I was attacked by 5 people in the movement of defending myself my right-hand toe was injured by a knife and I got 5 stitches and I was beaten by sticks and clubs but thank god I defend myself after beating two people they run away but I was already injured pray for me.”

Kili was honoured by the Indian High Commission in Tanzania by Binaya Pradha, the Indian High Commissioner for overcoming the language barrier and winning millions of hearts.

He uploaded photos from his visit to the Indian Embassy’s office on his Instagram account.

Kili was most recently praised by actress Kangana Ranaut. Kili piqued Kangana’s interest after posting a video of himself lip-syncing to a song from Kangana’s 2010 film ‘Once Upon a Time in Mumbai’. Kangana reposted the video on her social media and called it ‘lovely’ with heart emojis.

Kili Paul and Neema, the sibling duo, have been winning hearts and creating a sensation in India ever since their Instagram video lip-syncing to ‘Raatan Lambiyan’ from Shershaah went viral. In just five days, just one song received over one million views.

With 3.6 million followers now, his Instagram following increased from 95k to 135k almost immediately after sharing the ‘Raatan Lambiyaan’ video, which was reposted by Shershaah stars Kiara Advani and Siddharth Malhotra, as well as musician Jubin Nautiyal (who sang the original) and composer Tanishk Bagchi.

Several Indian celebrities, including Richa Chadha, Gul Panag, and Ayushmann Khurrana, are fans of Paul and follow him on social media.
