Avkash Shah, a Mumbai-based 3D Graphic/Motion Designer, was seeking an internship at the credit card payments company.

CRED recently made headlines for its creative advertising campaigns.

Shah realized he needed something eye-catching to do so, so he devised a plan to seek a position at the firm using a 3D-animated application.

“I want to intern at CRED. Here’s my application,” Avkash Shah remarked while posting the video on LinkedIn. “I figured that if I was going to apply, I’d make something worth it. It pays to be good,” he added.

Shah mentioned CRED’s founder, Kunal Shah, and Head of Design, Harish Sivaramakrishnan, in the post when he shared his 3D application with them.

Many people complimented the video and the unique way of applying for internships in the comments section. Shah received a number of employment offers as a result of the clip, which also caught the attention of CRED management.

In the comments section, CRED founder Kunal Shah agreed, “It pays to be good.”

Shah was eventually offered the internship he desired by Harish Sivaramakrishnan, CRED’s Head of Design, who wrote in the comments, “Welcome to the interns club at the CRED Design Mafia!”

Mr. Shah’s video application was also praised by LinkedIn. “This is such an innovative hack, Avkash. All the best for kickstarting your professional journey!” read a remark from LinkedIn’s official account.

This isn’t the first time a unique job application has gone viral on the internet. Dawayne Kirkland, the then college graduate, sought an internship at a digital agency in New York in 2017, but he handled the situation a little differently from the others.

Rather than a traditional CV stating his graphic design talents, he created a clip rapping about his accomplishments and characteristics.
