David Miller, along with Aiden Markram was the architect of South Africa’s five wicket win over India in the Super 12 stage of the T20 World Cup at the Optus Stadium, Perth.

Miller is one of the most destructive batters in the T20I format of the game. His exploits in the international formats and the IPL have been well documented, where he has single-handedly changed the result of matches. Since his T20I debut in 2010, the finisher has played 110 T20I matches, where he has scored 2130 runs with an average of 35. He has hit two T20I centuries, with his highest score being 106*.

With the South African team, Miller played nine matches this year. He scored a total of 158 runs with a strike rate of around 40. His highest score was 64*, which he achieved in the 212-run chase against India at the Arun Jaitley stadium, in Delhi.

Miller has been in phenomenal form this year. In 2022 alone, in winning run chases, Miller has been not out 14 times out of the 16 innings he played. He averages around 280 in successful run chases and has a strike rate of 154.

IPL 2022:

David Miller was crucial in Gujarat Titan’s title winning campaign. He was their primary finisher, and helped the franchise win many matches in the death overs. 2022 was his best IPL season, where he scored 481 runs at a strike rate at 142.72 with the GT.
