Pakistan’s Iftikhar Ahmed proved to be a saviour for Pakistan in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2022 match against India. Ahmed managed to script a 34-ball 51-run knock that pushed Pakistan out of the dire straits they were in after the dismissals of Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan.

Check out the video of one of Ahmed’s massive over-boundaries right here:

Ahmed managed to hit four sixes and two boundaries in the match, which provided Pakistan fans with some encouragement after the early dismissals of their openers, captain Babar Azam and vice captain Mohammad Rizwan. Azam was sent back to the pavilion on a golden duck thanks to a brilliant delivery by Arshdeep Singh, who picked up Rizwan’s wicket as well.

Singh went on to claim the scalp of Asif Ali. Indian allrounder Hardik Pandya was also impressive with the ball, raking up three scalps as well. He took the wickets of Shadab Khan, Haidar Ali, and Mohammad Nawaz.

Pakistan has been suffering from middle-order-induced woes for quite some time, and if Ahmed continues to show such finesse for the side in the shortest format of the game, he might soon prove to be an indispensable name on the team list. Shan Masood also proved to be a major contributor to Pakistan’s innings with his 42-ball 52 runs in the match.
