Indian captain Rohit Sharma got emotional while singing the national anthem before the commencement of the India vs Pakistan match at the ongoing T20 World Cup. Sharma was seen with his eyes closed, fighting to keep his emotions at bay. Check out the video right here:

In the last match between the two sides, which took place during the Asia Cup 2022, India had lost to Pakistan. Sharma’s men will be eager to script a story of redemption in the ongoing match.

Sharma won the toss and chose to field first, citing the grass covering and the possibility that the ball might swing as the reasons behind his decision. Pakistan captain Babar Azam also said that he would have chosen bowling had he won the toss.

The Indian captain’s decision proved to be a boon for his team, who started the affairs with the huge wicket of Azam, who was sent back to the pavilion for a golden duck, thanks to a brilliant delivery by India’s Arshdeep Singh. Soon after Azam’s dismissal, Singh went on to claim the wicket of Mohammad Rizwan, Pakistan’s wicketkeeper and vice-captain, who was also the highest scorer of Asia Cup 2022.

Concerns regarding the Melbourne weather had been doing the rounds before the match commenced. Melbourne’s sky is set to remain overcast throughout the day and chances of rainfall are at 70%. However, weather predictions also suggest that the rainfall might be just 2-5mm, which will not be enough to cause any major hindrances to the match.

India are fielding two spinners in the match, namely Axar Patel and Ravichandran Ashwin, besides three pacers in the form of Singh, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and Mohammad Shami. Allrounder Hardik Pandya can serve as the additional bowler.
