New York Jets‘ Safety Jordan Whitehead intercepted a pass from Buffalo Bills‘ quarterback Josh Allen in the first drive of the Week 9 game. The game is played at the Metlife Stadium in New York.

Watch:

This was Whitehead’s second pick of the season after catching one earlier in the 24-20 win against Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 4. The play came after Allen had thrown a 42-yard deep pass to wide receiver Stephon Diggs to open the game.

With this, the Jets tie the New England Patriots in the third place for total interceptions caught this season with 10.

Josh Allen has completed 65.5% of his total passes thrown but now has seven interceptions in seven games.

The Jets have got a rather surprising start to the 2022 NFL Season and are currently second in the AFC East with a 5-3 record. This is after four seasons of playing football where the team was a combined 17-48 and failed to reach the playoffs each time.

The team has been able to secure big wins over the three heavyweights of the league, the Green Bay Packers, Miami Dolphins and Denver Broncos. The team’s defense has played big time in these games as they have been able to stop them from scoring over 20 points despite them having some of the notable offensive players such as 2021 MVP Aaron Rodgers, WR Tyreek Hill and QB Russell Wilson.

The Jets are on course for their first playoff appearance in over a decade. They last competed in the post-season in 2010 when went on to participate in the NFC Championship game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, but lost 24-19.

They have a fairly easy two-game schedule ahead of them as the AFC East team plays against their divisional rivals New England Patriots in a Week 8 rematch and the Justin Fields led-Chicago Bears.
