The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) took a lot of heat online for their purchases at the 2022 IPL Auction. Looking back at the team, the think tank will be cautiously optimistic about their performance at the auction.

They went on to purchase a total of 22 players. They spent a lot of money on Day 1 to get players like Faf du Plessis, Wanindu Hasaranga, and Harshal Patel.

On Day 2, they made notable purchases of Finn Allen, Jason Behrendorff, David Willey, Sherfane Rutherford, Mahipal Lomror, Siddharth Kaul, Karn Sharma, Chama Milind, Aneeshwar Gautham, Luvnith Sissodia, and Suyash Prabhudessai.

At the auction, the franchisee spent 50.45 crores. RCB’s total investment, including retained players, came to 88.45 crores.

A glance at the above section reveals the depth of the roster, with the first eight players virtually guaranteed spots in the starting XI.

Maxwell, Hasaranga, du Plessis, and Hazlewood are ideal overseas options for the starting XI. At No. 3, Anuj Rawat and Mahipal Lomror are both viable options. Dinesh Karthik, on the other hand, could be a good option to bridge the gap between the openers and Glen Maxwell.

In the middle order, Shahbaz Ahmed will be another useful option.

Harshal Patel, Josh Hazlewood, Mohammad Siraj, and Karn Sharma appear to be their bowling options.
