Rodrygo, the Brazil and Real Madrid midfielder, was doing an interview with football legend Ronaldo Nazario after the 1-0 win against Switzerland at Lusail Stadium on Monday. Ronaldo Nazario, one of the all-time great footballers, was at the stadium on Monday along with former stars like Roberto Carlos, Cafu and Kaka. Former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger was also spotted sitting in the VIP box with them.

The presence of such high-profile former legends during the game brought on heavy cheers from the audience as they were reminded of Brazil’s golden era from the early 2000s.

Brazil eventually won the match, getting to the top spot in Group G while also finalising a spot in the Round of 16 along with France and Portugal. The only goal in the match came from a Casemiro volley that deflected off a Swiss defender’s back and flew into the net before Switzerland goalkeeper Yann Sommers could react.

Notably, Brazil managed yesterday’s win without their star player Neymar Jr. who was ruled out by team doctors after he suffered an ankle injury in the match against Serbia.

However, his absence will be a cause of concern for Brazil as he plays the important role of stitching attacks together for Brazil. Fans of the Brazil national team will hope that he returns to the squad in the knockout stages to help the team as the difficulty of the matches grow.
