India have locked horns with Pakistan in a much awaited 2022 Asia Cup match. Former India skipper Virat Kohli scipted history by becoming just the second Indian after captain Rohit Sharma, to play 100 T20Is.The 33-year-old is the first player to play 100 games in all formats for India. 

The run-machine has scored 3308 runs in T20Is, averaging around 50, with his highest score being 94*. He is also the seond international after Ross Taylor to play 100 games in T20Is, ODIs and Tests.

Several fans wished the batter on achieving this landmark: 

The former India skipper is the country’s leading run scorer against rivals Pakistan. In seven T20Is, he scored 311 runs at an astounding average of 77.75 and a strike rate of 118.25. Three half-centuries are included in the total. This also includes three times when he remained not out. His top score against Pakistan is 78*  which he scored during the 2012 ICC T20 World Cup.

Coach Rahul Dravid recovered from COVID-19 and was seen giving advice to the Indian dressing room ahead of the toss. Skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss and decided to bowl first.

In a surprise change, Dinesh Kartik was choosen over Rishabh Pant as India’s first choice wicket keeper. This means that the Indian management wanted a specialized finisher. Youngster Avesh Khan was also included in the squad in the hotly contested match over Ravichandran Ashwin.

Babar Azam also said that Pakistan would have bowled first themselves had they won the toss. Naseem Shah made his T20I debut. Haris Rauf and Shahnawaz Dahani were included in the playing 11, while Mohammad Hasnain and Hasan Ali sit out.
