Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa made headlines on Sunday, October 23, when he returned from his injury against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 7. The 24-year-old suffered a horrific head injury against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 4 that led to the NFL making changes in its concussion protocol.

The quarterback met with rounding applause from the fans as he was introduced on the field ahead of the game. He marked his return in style with an 8-yard touchdown only minutes into the first quarter that helped the Miami Dolphins to take a 7-0 lead.

Tua Tagovailoa’s touchdown came in Miami Dolphins’ opening drive in the game, when the quarterback found Raheem Mostert, who converted it with ease. The play also saw the Miami Dolphins travelling 71 yards in only 4:15.

The quarterback looked visibly confident going into the field against the Steelers after a three weeks absence from the NFL due to the concussion that he suffered against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 4. Fans in the stadium welcomed him by chanting his name and a round of applause and ovation as he was introduced to the field.

Despite his absence for three weeks, Tua remains one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. He boasts of the third-highest passing yards among all players in the league since the beginning of last season with 469 yards, following Joe Burrow in the first two spots.

Tua Tagovailoa has registered 80 successful passes out of 115 attempts for 1,035 yards, 8 passing touchdowns and 3 interceptions in the 2022 NFL season so far. At the time of writing this article, he has accumulated 8 successful passes out of 13 attempts for 111 yards, 1 passing touchdown and a pass completion percentage of 61.5% with 13:05 left on the clock for the second quarter.
