For years, fans have urged the Philadelphia Eagles to reintroduce the Kelly green uniforms that the team wore until the mid-1990s. Now, their dream has finally come true when the Eagles said that they’ll wear the jerseys as an alternate this season, along with a helmet that matches the Kelly green outfits.

The Eagles originally stated that the jerseys would return as expected on July 31, however, they introduced the uniforms on July 29 on social media.

In the image, Jalen Hurts, DeVonta Smith, and Brandon Graham were seen sporting the uniform that was once made famous by Seth Joyner, Reggie White, and Randall Cunningham in the late 1980s and early 1990s. In fact, the Eagles have a different logo that is a tribute to that time period.

On October 22, when the team meets the Miami Dolphins for Sunday Night Football, the Eagles will make their Kelly Green jersey debut. Then, when they host the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, November 26, in Week 12, they will once again switch to their Kelly green uniforms, the team announced.

“We are thrilled to bring back the Kelly green uniform and helmet this season, and are equally excited to celebrate our team’s history with Eagles fans everywhere,” said Jeffrey Lurie, Philadelphia Eagles Chairman & CEO. The throwback jerseys were last used by the Eagles in 2010.

The ‘Kelly Green’ shirt and grey trousers used by the Eagles were the centerpiece of their uniform for many years. These pants will also be worn by the team for the first time since the 1995 season. Furthermore, the players will also don white socks with the Kelly Green stripes, another highlight of the uniforms.
