Tech giant Apple has confirmed that it will replace its AirPods Pro earbuds for free as users have complained of facing issues. The units that have been sold over last year and this year fall under this category, media reports say.

Apple will fix or replace the faulty earbuds for free, whichever is applicable, the tech giant on its support site said, announcing the programme dedicated to AirPods Pro users. 

The programme is meant for those who experience a “crackling or static sounds that increase in loud environments, with exercise or while talking on the phone”, or those facing issues with its active noise cancellation feature.

To avail this service, one has to either find an Apple authorised service provider, contact Apple Support, or make an appointment at an Apple retail store. 

“This worldwide Apple programme doesn’t extend the standard warranty coverage of the AirPods Pro. It covers affected AirPods Pro for 2 years after the first retail sale of the unit,” the statement reads
