Twitter broke down for 45 minutes today, where users were temporarily unable to access links to outside websites and even to Twitter’s own webpages from the social media network. “#TwitterDown” “#TwitterAPI” and “Did Twitter” started trending on the social media site.

When they tried clicking any link on the site, the following error message, “Your current API plan does not include access to this endpoint, please see https://developer.twitter.com/en/docs/twitter-api for more information, code: 467” came up.

Clicking that developer link didn’t clear anything up. The error message did not only appear when one clicked on news articles and other outbound links. According to Ars Technica, the error message also appeared when one tried to click Twitter’s terms of service, privacy policy, cookie policy, and similar pages. Some images embedded in tweets were broken. There were reports of TweetDeck being broken too.

It was still possible to view tweets in a browser tab. The error message also showed while loading any Twitter page in a browser’s incognito mode.
