Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle paid tribute to Britain’s longest-serving royal consort and Harry’s grandfather Prince Philip who died on Friday.

Their foundation, Archewell’s official website was updated with a single message which read, “In Loving Memory of His Royal Highness, The Duke of Edinburgh, 1921-2021. Thank you for your service… You will be greatly missed.”

The couple’s travel plans are yet to be announced. It is unclear if Prince Harry will be travelling to Britain for Prince Philip’s funeral or if his wife Meghan Markle who is due to give birth to their second child, will accompany him.

Prince Philip peacefully died at the age of 99 at Windsor Castle according to the statement released by Buckingham Palace.

Harry and Meghan retired from their frontline royal duties last year and moved to Los Angeles. If they do travel to Britain for the funeral, it would be the first the couple returns after their talk-of-the-town March interview with Oprah.

Racism was one of the major reasons behind Meghan and Harry departing from the royal family as they revealed in their interview with Oprah. They revealed that a senior royal expressed concerns over how dark their first child, Archie’s skin colour will be.

Oprah Winfrey had later clarified to CBS that Philip or the queen were not the ones who made the racist comments, reports AFP.

Questions are being riddled over the kind of reception Meghan and Harry may receive if they did return to Britain. They may also be subjected to the mandatory quarantine time and COVID-19 tests before travelling.

According to Prince Harry, he has a good relationship with both his grandparents and zoom called them to show them Archie.
