Gun violence is on the rise in the United States and music concerts have not been spared. Americans were handed a shock on Saturday night, September 3, 2022, when Twitter chatter first reported that there had been a shooting incident at a concert of rapper Lil Baby, that was being organized at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, South Carolina.

While the report is still to be confirmed, some Twitter users have claimed to be present at the concert on Saturday night. These users also claimed that children were present at the concert and that the shooting took place right outside of the Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, South Carolina, where the concert was organized.

As per initial information, Lil Baby, whose real name is Dominique Armani Jones, was performing at a concert at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena, following which the shooting incident happened. 

This was also not the first time a Lil Baby concert has witnessed a shooting incident. Two years ago, another of the rapper’s concerts in Birmingham, Alabama, witnessed a shooting incident that left a person critically injured at the Bill Harris Arena.

The Lil Baby concert took place at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, South Carolina, which serves as the home of the Greenville Swamp Rabbits, a hockey team that plays in the south division of the ECHL’s Eastern Conference.

The capacity of the Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville is 15,951 and was opened on September 3, 1998. $63 million was spent on the construction of the arena, which roughly stands at $105 million in 2021 valuation of American Dollars. It was previously known as the BI-LO Center till 2013 and was renamed after that.

The arena is owned by the Greenville Arena District and the Fluor Corporation is in charge of the maintenance of the stadium.
