Robert Lewandowski, the Polish forward, recently completed a move from Bayern Munich to Barcelona. While the Bundesliga club had initially assured that their star striker wasn’t going anywhere, Lewandowski insisted on the move, even saying that something inside him had died.
In one of his later press conferences, he expressed hope again that Bayern would do the mature thing and let him go. Since his arrival at Barcelona, the 33-year-old has posted many videos, and fans are in anticipation for the La Liga season to start so Lewandowski can be seen in action.
Despite Barcelona’s shaky finances, including the Catalan’s debt, they made a bid for Lewandowski, with Spanish coach Xavi intent on building the team around the forward.
His arrival also adds considerable firepower to a Barcelona whose lineup includes the likes of Depay, Dembele and Aubameyang.
Arriving in Miami for the preseason friendly, Lewandowski said, “I am ready to be part of this club with a great history and to make even more history and win titles”.
He added, “I saw the win against Inter Miami and I think there is a lot of potential. We have a lot of work to do”, AP reported.
Club president Joan Laporta said, “Lewandowski has made an extraordinary effort to sign for Barça. We are very proud that you wanted to come and play here and we have high expectations”, adding, “It is a signing that has had worldwide repercussions. We are putting Barça back in its place in the world. We are trying to put together a more and more competitive team.”
