Bengaluru FC is a Bangalore-based Indian professional football club in Karnataka. Nicknamed as The Blues, this football club was founded on July 20, 2013. Owned by a Mumbai-based company JSW Bengaluru Football Club Pvt. Ltd., its stadium ground is located in Bengaluru as Sree Kanteerava Stadium.
In the year 2022, Bengaluru FC achieved victory against Mumbai City FC and won 131st Durand Cup. Before this, the club has already won the Indian Super League (ISL) title in 2018-19 and two Federation Cups in 2015. Apart from this, Bengaluru FC has also won Super Cup in 2018. They represented India in the Asian club competition, competing in the AFC Cup for four consecutive years from 2015 to 2018.
The club’s Bangalore Palace is coloured in white which is a symbol of the victory of the Wodeyars (The Wadiyars), who was a South Indian royal Hindu family. The blue colour is used to represent the royal club.
Bengaluru and Puma agreed to a partnership in July 2014, with Puma sponsoring the team’s uniforms beginning with the 2014–15 campaign. From the team’s foundation until 2018, JSW Group, the club’s parent business, served as the primary sponsor.
Then, in 2018, the club agreed to a four-year sponsorship agreement with Kia Motors, a South Korean automaker. By the beginning of the 2020–21 season, the agreement was finished, and JSW Group was reinstated as the main sponsor.
DafaNews renewed its affiliation with Bengaluru FC of the Indian Super League in July 2020. DafaNews will continue to serve as the club’s official digital news portal after the partnership agreement was extended by a year.
