One of the links between Brahmastra and Swades is that Ayan Mukherji, director of Brahmastra, was an assistant director in Ashutosh Gowarekar’s film. Back in 2004, Ayan Mukherji was 19 years old.
“In Swades, he (Shahrukh) plays a NASA scientist called Mohan Bhargava, who decides to come back and work in India. Since I had worked on Swades as an assistant, I thought it would be a nice thing to throw in here,” Mukherji told Hindustan Times.
