Elon Musk, Tesla and SpaceX CEO, shared a meme about watching porn. The post shows two images juxtaposed. The top panel has a person holding a device and is captioned “Me trying to figure out why PornHub doesn’t have any sound”. The panel at the bottom shows a photoshopped image of a group of people looking judgmentally, while in front of a swimming pool, and is captioned “The guests out on the patio listening to my Bluetooth Speaker”.
Musk added his own touch to the meme, saying “Maybe volume set too low? I’ll just turn it up a little …” The joke about porn being played on Bluetooth speakers at inopportune moments has been around for a long time, and there have been instances when it has happened in real life.

Tawny Platis, a comedian and podcaster, shared in 2021 that she’d accidentally played porn on her neighbour’s Bluetooth speaker, and had realized it when she couldn’t turn up the volume of the adult content. In 2022, a UK dad was left embarrassed at his son’s prank, wherein a Bluetooth speaker was put in the man’s case, and then his son played pornographic sounds via his phone, leading to moans coming out of the luggage in the middle of the airport.
Musk replied to his own Twitter post, saying “Bluetooth range on a Tesla is absurdly long”, promoting the electric car company where the 51-year-old is CEO.

Despite Musk’s claims, reports suggest that Tesla’s Bluetooth range is approximately 30 feet (nine meters), which also depends on the kind of device being used. This is the standard Bluetooth range across connections since there is interference at distances more than this.
The entrepreneur’s jokes about Bluetooth come amid some serious work being done via his startup, Neuralink, which can connect human brains to iPhones using the Bluetooth feature.
