After a round of protest by trade union members and unhappy employees shut down La Samatitane shopping store in Paris on Thursday, a fresh round of protest erupted on Friday, December 23.

Protestors were seen storming the building with flags and confronting the security workers. Videos of the incident emerged on Twitter which showed protestors clashing with security.

“La Samaritaine is a symbolic place representing wealth. A lot of employees here cannot allow themselves to buy what they sell,” Amar Lagha, a member of the left-oriented CGT union told AFP during Thursday’s protests.

“Almost all of the demonstrators were not employees of la Samaritaine,” La Samarintine management said in a statement. “For security reasons, clients and personnel were evacuated.”

Over 200 protestors were present at La Samarantine on Thursday and Friday.
