An Egyptian YouTuber is reportedly facing legal action as he claimed to have turned the Pyramids of Giza blue for a gender reveal party of his unborn child. Siamand Mustafa, who is a YouTuber, shared a video on his YouTube channel wherein the pyramids can be seen bathed in blue light. According to The Mirror, Mustafa said he spent several days to get permissions and get documents to lit up the pyramids in blue.

The video was shared on YouTube last week and was titled ‘First gender reveal party held by the pyramids’. The video has gone viral and has over 4 million views. In the video, Siamand Mustafa and his wife Shahad, who are expecting their second child together, can be seen standing in front of the pyramids with their friends. A light show then turns the ancient structures blue, indicating that the couple would be having a baby boy.

The authorities in Egypt have said that the claims made by the YouTuber are not true and it was painted blue for a different reason.

Mohamed Abdelaziz, who runs the Sound and Light Company that arranges all celebratory events at the pyramids, said the Pyramids were lit up in blue and orange few days ago by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities and the Ministry of Health to observe World Liver Day and to celebrate the elimination of Hepatitis C from Egypt.

According to Arab News, the official, who in charge of the site, said holding private parties near the pyramids are strictly prohibited and they cannot be not used for advertising purposes.”

Abdelaziz confirmed that legal action is being taken against Mustafa over the video.
