‘La Casa de Papel’ also known as ‘Money Heist’ will premiere its fifth and final season on Friday, September 3, 2021. The series’ writer Javier Gómez Santander confessed that he regretted killing off Pedro Alonso’s character Berlin in the second season of the show.
Fans of the show were expecting Berlin’s return in the third and fourth seasons. Berlin returned to the show in its third and fourth season through flashbacks. Javier Gómez Santander had once confessed that they felt apologetic towards their decision of killing Berlin.

In an interview with El Mundo, through Express UK, Javier said that they authored an irreversible death for Pedro Alonso’s character Berlin.
“Even characters with such a negative charge like Berlin end up being somewhat redeemed and people have a brutal affection for them. So we get him back for this season. How were we going to give it up?” he said.
He went on to add that if they had known that there would be more seasons of Money Heist then they would have thought hard about killing Berlin. “It is that he died a lot. We killed him too much and there is no way to revive him,” he added.

Money Heist creator and co-writer Alex Pina revealed that he had no intentions of killing the character Berlin. “I said I had no intention of taking him out of the series ‘This character doesn’t fit with the times. You should take him out of the series,'” he said.
In the teaser revealed last week, the makers introduced Berlin’s son Rafel, actor Patrick Criado. Berlin will make an appearance in season 5 through flashbacks. The teaser released showed Rafael and Berlin teaming up for a robbery.
The teaser left fans shocked, they did not anticipate the twist. They are speculating that Berlin would save the Professor and other characters in the show’s finale.
