Batman Day marks the celebration of the Caped Crusader’s first appearance in DC Comics. Batman fans gather each year on the third Saturday of September, to mark the occasion, and this year, Batman Day is on September 17.

Bruce Wayne decided to become Batman to weed out crime and corruption in Gotham, and during that time the billionaire has transformed from a detective to a full-fledged superhero, who’s been an integral member of the Justice League – a group that has taken the protection of the earth and the universe upon themselves.

Batman doesn’t have any superpowers and must get by on his wits and the use of technology. Marvel fans will find similarities with Tony Stark’s Iron Man since Batman’s suits are also modelled to suit various situations. Here’s a look at the five best Batman suits over the years.

Exoframe Powered Batsuit

Frank Miller’s The Dark Knight Returns saw Batman go toe to toe with Superman, which also made its way to the critically-panned Batman vs Superman movie.

However, in the comics, Batman dons a special Exoframe Powered Batsuit, which gives him added durability to take on the Man of Steel. The suit is also powered with various gadgets to aid in battle, and both in the comics and movie, Batman uses this to defeat Superman.

Wayne’s chilling statement to Superman to remember Batman as the man who defeated him, in his most private moments, easily makes this the best Batsuit to appear in the canon.

Justice Buster

Batman is the man with a plan, and he designed the Fenrir Armor or Justice Buster in case he ever needed to take on his teammates in the Justice League.

The suit comes with weapons to knock out Superman and protect the Caped Crusader from Wonder Woman, two of the League’s most powerful members. Batman had to use the suit in Endgame, against his Jokerized teammates.

Hellbat Armor

Justice League members helped Batman design this Hellbat Armor to face Superman-level threats. He used it to fight Darkseid. Batman’s armour lets him withstand extreme temperatures and is also highly durable. The cape transforms into wings and a powerful blast can be emitted through the bat logo.

Stealth Suit

Not everything is about brawn, and Batman designed the Stealth Suit to avoid detection by Superman. The suit is lighter than Batman’s other outfits and is meant to make the wearer undetectable, so Batman can hide in plain sight.

In the comics, Batman wore it in a fight alongside Superman, against an alien called The Wraith.

Son Box Suit

Although the most powerful suit of all, this is ranked right at the bottom because it essentially transforms Batman from a man in an armoured suit to a person with superpowers.

The Caped Crusader combined powers from Metron’s Mobius chair and Element X to make this Final Bat-Suit. It provides protection to the wearer and lets Batman deflect all of the Justice League’s attacks, but the overpowering comes from the suit’s ability to alter someone’s mind at a cellular level.
