Stellan Skarsgard is a Swedish actor. His first American film was the 1985 movie, American Playhouse: Noon Wine. He is particularly associated with director Lars von Trier and has appeared in seven of his Danish auteurs. He will star as Luthen Rael in the upcoming Disney+ series Andor.

Chernobyl is a 2019 historical drama television miniseries. It revolves around the Chernobyl disaster of 1986. Stellan Skarsgard played the role of Boris Shcherbina, a deputy chairman. He was conferred with the Golden Globe Award for the Best Supporting Actor—Series, Miniseries or Television Film—for this role.
