Actor-producer Anushka Sharma and cricketer Virat Kohli are overjoyed as they became the proud parents of a baby girl on Monday. The Indian skipper took to social media to announce the news.
“We are thrilled to share with you that we have been blessed with a baby girl this afternoon. We thank you all for your love, prayers and good wishes. Anushka and the baby are both healthy and we are feeling beyond blessed to start this new chapter of our lives. We hope that you can respect our privacy at this time,” Virat wrote in an Instagram post.
In August 2020, Virat and Anushka announced that they will be welcoming their first child in January 2021. “And then, we were three! Arriving Jan 2021,” both the actor and the cricketer shared on their Instagram handles.
Kohli, who tied the knot with Anushka in a private ceremony in 2017 in Tuscany, flew back to Mumbai to be with his wife after the first Test between Australia and India at the Adelaide Oval in December. Though his decision got a mixed response from cricket veterans and his fans, the captain of the Indian cricket team, in an interview at that time, said “It’s a decision that was absolutely clear in my mind.”
“As committed as you are to play for your country this is a very, very special moment in life that you want to be there for at any cost. It’s a blessed time and we’re very excited,” Kohli said during a chat with Steve Smith on the eve of the Border-Gavaskar Test series opener.
On the other hand, Anushka gave some great maternity fashion goals throughout her pregnancy. Not to miss, her work videos that showed how she is keeping herself active even during the third trimester of pregnancy.
She also said in an interview that she plans to get back to work in four months after her delivery.
The actress was last seen on screen in the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer ‘Zero’. However, as a producer, she gave OTT hits like ‘Bulbbul’ and ‘Paatal Lok’.
