‘Anek,’ described as a spy thriller, is set against the geopolitical backdrop of Northeast India. The film was shot in numerous Northeast Indian sites, including Assam and Shillong, Meghalaya.

Last year, filmmaker Anubhav Sinha revealed details about the film “It was a tough film to write and a difficult picture to create. We filmed it in tough terrain, but what makes it unique is how satisfying the takeaway was. It was a pleasure to work with Ayushmann again, who brought the narrative to life with his portrayal of Joshua.”

“Only every now and then does an actor come across a tale that forces him to step outside of his comfort zone. While I have always supported novel stories, ‘Anek’ forced me to act with vigour. It’s the type of writing that makes you want to give it your all. I’m very happy that we created a picture like this, and I’m even more grateful that I got to star in it. I am grateful to Anubhav Sir for selecting me to narrate this remarkable narrative and to Bhushan Sir for being the support system we required on our trip. It gives us great joy to see our passion project being shared with the rest of the globe “said the performer.
