Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s upcoming Telugu film
is a sci-fi action thriller, Yashoda, scheduled for theatrical release in
November. The trailer for the film was released on October 28.

The movie is written and directed by Indian writer-director-duo Hari-Harish and is produced by Sivalenka Krishna Prasad. The music of the film is composed by Mani Sharma.

Trailer

The trailer for Yashoda was released to
YouTube on October 28 in five languages – Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, and
Malayalam.

Ruth Prabhu, who plays the solo lead in
the film, is seen as a submissive soft woman at the beginning of the trailer
who rents out her womb for surrogacy but is drawn into an illegal racket
involving big corporations.

The
film has gained attention on social media with netizens not only praising the
concept of the film but also the action scenes and the performances by the actors.

Actors from various languages took to social media to announce the trailer for Yashoda. Varun Dhawan launched the trailer in Hindi, followed by Vijay Deverakonda in Telugu, Suriya in Tamil, Rakshit Shetty in Kannada, and Dulquer Salmaan in Malayalam.

Cast

The movie stars Samantha Ruth Prabhu in
the lead role of Yashoda. Unni Mukundan plays the role of Dr. Gautam and
Varalaxmi Sarathkumar stars as Madhubala.

The film’s cast also includes actors Rao
Ramesh, Sampath Raj, Murali Sharma, and Kalpika Ganesh.

Plot

The film follows the life of Yashoda, a
young woman who decides to become a surrogate mother in exchange for money. She
is advised by gynecologists to stay mentally and physically fit, however, when
she discovers medical crimes going on behind her back, she must fight
back to uncover the criminals and bring justice to the surrogate mothers who
were wronged.

Release Date

The movie was originally scheduled to
release in August 2022, however, the release date was postponed.  The film is now set to hit the theatres on
November 11, 2022, in Telugu as well as in dubbed versions of four other
languages.
