Vikas Singh, lawyer of Krishna Kumar Singh, father of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput, on Wednesday said that some news channels are running a ‘malicious campaign’ to defame Rajput and his family and to benefit actor Rhea Chakraborty, PTI reported.

Rajput’s family has alleged Chakraborty of abetting the suicide of the late actor. Rajput was found dead in his Bandra Apartment on June 14.

Singh said that Sushant’s family has decided that no film, serial, book would be written or made without the expressed consent of his father. “The script needs to be approved by his father. If anyone goes against it, they will do it at their own peril,” the lawyer said, news agency ANI reported.

The Supreme Court had upheld the transfer of the FIR, lodged by the late actor’s father in Patna against the actress and others, to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

Currently, three agencies are probing the case: The CBI, Enforcement Directorate, and the NCB.
