Werewolf by Night is an upcoming Hollywood television special directed by Michael Giacchino. The special is based on a comic of the same name published in July 1953. The film has been produced by Marvel Studios and is a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) film franchise.

The special was officially announced by Marvel Studios in September 2022 and has been described as the ‘first-ever special presentation’ by the production house.

Release Date:

Filming for the Halloween special had begun in late March 2022 in Atlanta, Georgia, and was wrapped in April. The film will premiere on Disney+ on October 7, 2022, at 3 AM EST. A special screening is also scheduled on October 6 at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery as part of ‘Hallowstream’, a Disney+ Halloween-themed event. The special will be part of Phase Four of the MCU franchise.

Cast:

Mexican actor and producer Gael Garcia Bernal will play Jack Russell, the lead character of the special. His casting was finalized in November 2021. In January 2022, Laura Donnelly was cast as Elsa Bloodstone along with Harriet Sansom Harris as Verusa. The cast also includes Kirk Thatcher, Leonardo Nam, Jaycob Maya, and Daniel J. Watts.

Plot:

The premise of the Disney+ special covers a secret group of monster hunters who gather at the Bloodstone Manor following the death of their leader. They engage in a life-risking, mysterious and dangerous competition for a powerful relic, which brings them face-to-face with a dangerous monster.

The official trailer of Werewolf by Night was released on Marvel Entertainment’s YouTube channel on September 11, 2022. The trailer has gained over 5 million views up till now. The trailer dives into a genre of classic horror and introduces werewolves, monsters, and cults to the audience.
