Hellena Taylor is a voice-over artist who has given voice to the character of Bayonetta in the first two editions of the game. She will not be featuring in Bayonetta 3 due to disagreements over pay with the Japanese studio Platinum Games, the producer of the title.

Taylor released a series of videos on Twitter in which she claimed that Platinum Game offered her an ‘insulting pay’ to the second edition in spite of making a profit of $450 million from Bayonetta. She has asked fans to boycott the game and donate the money to charity instead.

However, she is best known as the voice-over artist for Bayonetta, Bayonetta 2, Super Smash Bris 4, Anarchy Reigns and Super Smash Bros: Ultimate. She also voiced Bayonetta in the movie adaptation of the game.

Earlier this month, Yusuke Miyata of Platinum Games told the media outlet Game Informer that Taylor has been replaced by Jenifer Hale in the upcoming Nintendo Switch exclusive. He said that “various overlapping circumstances” made it “difficult” for Taylor to voice Bayonetta in the upcoming edition.

Taylor has come out and disputed the claim saying: “What did they offer to pay me? The final offer to do the whole game was a flat rate of $4000. This is an insult to me, the amount of time I took to work on my talent and everything that I have given to this game and the fans.”
