Balu Koli, a resident of Kalyan Kongaon, Maharashtra, wanted to make his wedding anniversary a memorable one for his wife. So, he decided to gift her a glittering knee-length gold necklace, weighing one kilogram. And he did. But, his problems started soon after he posted a video of the function where he is seen gifting her the necklace.
As the video went viral on WhatsApp and Facebook, police took note of the lavish gift and decided to summon Koli. Cornered Koli then had to spill the beans. In order to impress his wife, he had ordered a fake necklace worth Rs 38,000. A pure gold 1 kg necklace would have cost him at least Rs 45 lakh.
