As Bollywood icon Salman Khan turns 56 today, we take a look at his iconic dialogues over the years. Popularly known as ‘Salman bhai’, the star has been in the industry for more than three decades and has been a part of more than 100 movies during his successful career. The megastar has created a huge wave of success and fandom. Here are some of his most popular dialogues from his blockbuster hits-

1. Starting off with an age-old classic, Salman Khan’s “Dosti ka ek usool hai madam, no sorry, no thank you’, (there’s one rule of friendship, no sorry and no thank you) became an iconic dialogue that young boys instantly incorporated into conversations with their lady loves. The dialogue is from the 1989 hit film, Maine Pyar Kiya.

2. Some days are worse than others, bringing worry, fear, and a sense of worthlessness. To strike back, Salman Khan’s dialogue from the 2011 film Ready is a perfect reminder to oneself- “Zindagi mein teen cheezein kabhi underestimate mat karna… I, me and myself” (never underestimate one thing in life, I, me and myself).

3. While Salman Khan’s 2017 film Tubelight didn’t manage to do much at the box office, it certainly taught us that “Yakeen ek tubelight ki tarah hota hai, der se jalta hai, lekin jab jalta hai toh full light kar deta hai” (faith is like a tubelight, it takes time to ignite, but once it does, it lights up everything)

4.  Salman Khan’s “ek baar jo maine commitment kar di, uske baad mai apne aap ki bhi nahi sunta,” (once I commit to do something, I don’t even listen to myself) dialogue from the film Wanted is handy if you regularly deal with people who doubt you and your abilities.

5. And finally, a must-use dialogue for extreme perfectionists who don’t like to ask for help, “Mujhpe ek ehsaan karna, mujhpe koi ehsaan mat karna” (do me a favour that you won’t ever do me a favour). The twisted yet iconic dialogue is from the 2011 blockbuster hit film Bodyguard, starring Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor.
