India middle-order batsman Shreyas Iyer, who injured his shoulder during a match against England in March, hit the nets after 100 days on Wednesday ahead of the resumption of IPL 2021.

Iyer took to Instagram on Wednesday to share a clip where he was seen middling the ball well in a net practice area. The Delhi Capitals shared the clip on their own Instagram handle and  penned down an emotional note for the team’s skipper.

“Aankhein taras gayi thi yeh dekhne ke liye. Can’t wait to have you back in full flow,” the franchise wrote.

Soon, the comments section was flooded with wishes from his fans.

“Our skipper will come back stronger than ever,” one person wrote.

“Going to see you on the field very soon,” another person commented.

“Now. our skipper can lead us to IPL glory in the second phase in UAE,” wrote a DC fan.

Iyer suffered the injury while fielding during the opening ODI of the three-match series between India and England on March 23, following which he was ruled out of the rest of the ODI series.

The 26-year-old underwent surgery on April 2 and has to pull out from the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League as well and Rishabh Pant was made the captain of DC.

“I don’t know about the captaincy, it’s in the hands of the owners. But the team has already been doing well and we are on top and that’s what really matters to me. My main aim and goal to lift the trophy which Delhi has never done before,” Iyer had said on The Grade Cricketer’s YouTube channel earlier this month.

Speaking about his healing process, he had said, “I think the healing process has been done. Now it’s the last stage of achieving strength and range. So that’s going to take about a month and the training is obviously going on. I feel I will be there in the IPL.”
