“It’s obvious that the witchcraft country did their work before the game. It seems like they have ties with FIFA and the referees. I can’t believe how corrupt football has become,” a Twitter user wrote.
“I don’t believe these referees are bad and don’t understand the game. I think they got clear directions what to do…” a second one said.
“Very yesterday’s referee mindset. Biased AF,” a third one tweeted.
France got an early lead in the match thanks to a goal by the French defender Theo Hernandez in the 5th minute. However, since the goal, Morocco has been the better team creating several chances throughout the match.
They came close to equalizing with a wonderful bicycle kick from the defender Jawad El Yamiq, which managed to elude goalkeeper Hugo Lloris but hit the woodwork eventually.
Morocco created history earlier in the quarter-final by becoming the first African team to reach the semi-final of a FIFA World Cup. They defeated giants like Belgium, Spain and Portugal on their way to the semi-final.
If they manage to reach the final by beating defending champion France, they will add another feather to their cap by becoming the first African team ever to reach a World Cup final.
