Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg was spotted training with UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya and UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski, according to a recent tweet by Adesanya.

The update comes after Mark Zuckerberg agreed to compete in a cage bout against Twitter CEO Elon Musk.

UFC champions Israel Adesanya and Alexander Volkanovski shared a picture on Twitter with Zuckerberg with the caption, “No fugazi with Mark This is Serious Business!!”

Who is Israel Adesanya?

Israel Adesanya is a professional mixed martial artist, kickboxer, and former boxer of Nigerian and New Zealand descent. Adesanya has won numerous championships in each of the three sports. He competes in the Middleweight category of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), and he currently holds the championship after winning it twice. Adesanya has also contested for the Glory Middleweight Championship in kickboxing. He holds the fifth-place spot in the UFC men’s pound-for-pound rankings as of March 21, 2023.

The 33-year-old hails from Lagos, Nigeria, and he is the eldest of five siblings. His mother, Taiwo, is a nurse, while his father, Oluwafemi, works as an accountant. During his time at Chrisland School, Opebi, Adesanya participated in the school’s Taekwondo after-school club. However, he was later withdrawn from the club by his mother following an injury.

Israel Adesanya defeated Tim Atonio by unanimous decision in May 2010 to earn his first triumph in professional combat. Adesanya then embarked on a remarkable seven-fight winning streak after that victory. He mostly participated in China during this period, especially with the Wu Lin Feng team. 

Israel Adesanya took part in regional competitions in New Zealand in addition to his battles in China. He competed in the King in the Ring Cruiserweights II event in 2015, showing off his abilities in a heavier-weight division.

The next year, Adesanya continued to compete in The Heavyweights III tournament. He began by knocking out Nase Foai via technical knockout in the quarterfinals, then beat Dan Roberts by knockout in the semifinals. In the championship match, Adesanya took on Jamie Eades.
