One of the most popular social messaging application, WhatsApp is set to add a list of new features including catalogue shortcut and new storage UI look in its upcoming update, reported Live Mint.

With over two billion global users, the Facebook-owned messaging app is one of the most widely used apps. Here are the new features that will be available in the latest update:

Always mute:

Currently, WhatsApp has limited the duration of muting a contact or group to a maximum of one year. According to a report by WABetaInfo, which is a blog that tracks the latest updates on WhatsApp, Beta users will now have the option to permanently mute a chat or group.

Catalogue shortcut:

This new shortcut would more important for WhatsApp’s Business as it will give users access to a business’s catalogue. WhatsApp has already featured this feature in its Business app for Android and iOS.

New storage UI look:

Beta users will also get an updated storage UI look, the roll out of which had began in earlier beta but many users failed to receive the redesign. 

Media guidelines:

According to the blog, users will now be able to enable guides to align stickers and GIFs as well as texts while putting up a WhatsApp story through the new feature called Media guidelines.

Voice and video call enhancements:

The blog also reported that WhatsApp is working on hiding the ‘Voice and Video Call’ buttons in chats with verified business accounts. They will be available once the profile picture is clicked.
