Charles, Prince of Wales, the first child of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip is the apparent heir to the British throne. The first two seasons of the drama series %u2018The Cown%u2019 mainly revolves around the Queen and her reign, season 3 of the same made room for a detailed portrait of her incredibly tragic first-born, Prince Charles.

He is also the longest-serving Prince of Wales, having held that title since July 1958. Upon the death of his father Prince Philip, he inherited the title Duke of Edinburgh. Charles was born in Buckingham Palace and was educated at Cheam and Gordonstoun Schools, which Prince Philip had attended when he was a child. Apart from that, he also spent a year at the Timbertop campus of Geelong Grammar School in Victoria, Australia.

He served in the Royal Air Force and Royal Navy from 1971 to 1976 after he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Cambridge. He married Lady Diana Spencer in 1981 and they had two sons: William and Harry.

The couple divorced following well-publicised extramarital affairs by both Prince as well as Diana. Soon after that, Diana died as the result of a car crash in Paris. After that in 2005, Charles married long-time partner Camilla Parker Bowles.

Member of more than 400 charities and organizations, Charles founded The Prince’s Trust in 1976 which helps vulnerable young people get their life’s on track. He is also an environmentalist and raises awareness of organic farming and climate change, because of which he has earned awards and recognition from several environmental groups.

 Groomed to become a King one day, he also undertakes official duties on behalf of the Queen. Being a King isn’t necessarily a blessing, it can definitely feel a lot worse at times. 

 “Tywysog Cymru” was one of the best episodes of the drama series The Crown. Charles speech during his investiture in Welsh was not taken upon nicely and he was heavily criticized by his mother for the same. Uncle Dickie aka Lord Mountbatten shared a close relationship with Charles.
