The Witcher season 1 premiered on December 2019 and garnered massive positive response in no time. Prior to the release of the first season, the makers of The Witcher had announced the second season. Season 1 introduced us to the characters that would lead this series and some of the magical objects and places from the universe. Among them, one was the Water of Brokilon, which to the surprise of everyone had no effect on Ciri played by Freya Allan.

The Water of Brokilon is a psychotropic, mutagen-containing substance determines if an outsider has come with evil intentions or not and if they are found having malicious intentions, then the water will kill them, but if they are pure of heart they survive and can stay in the forest.

In the series, we saw Ciri drinking the water but to no effect, so Queen Eithn� took her to Shan-Kayan, a large tree from which Ciri drank a substance and had a vision of a large, luminescent tree in the middle of the desert %u2013 and through that, they learned her real identity.

Ciri was unaffected by the water, so Eithn� asked her if she wanted to stay in the forest or pursue her destiny, and the young Princess chose the second. Now, in the original, Polish version of the books by author Andrzej Sapkowski, why Ciri wasn%u2019t affected by the water was left a mystery, but in the English translation, it%u2019s implied it%u2019s due to %u2013 Ciri%u2019s strong belief in destiny. Apparently, her destiny getting back to her kingdom and meeting Geralt, who she met at the end of season 1.

With the forest of Brokilon behind her and season 2 of The Witcher following Ciri%u2019s training at Kaer Morhen, it%u2019s unlikely the upcoming episodes will explain why the Water of Brokilon had no effect on her. Although it%u2019s one more mystery left by The Witcher that will have fans wondering and coming up with different explanations.
