‘Guardians of the Galaxy 3’ director James Gunn responded to a tweet from The Direct, an entertainment outlet covering superhero content, including the Marvel Cinematic Universe. They shared a report that the character Adam Warlock would not have the classic blue and red costume as seen in the comic, nor would he have the cape or the gemstone on his forehead. Gunn debunked it, saying “Absolute bullsh*t”.

The site has, since then, taken down its tweet and updated its report noting that the film’s director has dismissed the possibility of any major changes to Adam Warlock’s costume.

Will Poulter of ‘Black Mirror: Bandersnatch’ fame appears as Warlock, the artificial powerful being who’s created to destroy the Guardians.

The upcoming ‘Guardians’ movie is bound to be interesting since Warlock wields the Soul Stone, which is part of the Infinity Stones, that featured prominently in the showdown between the Avengers and Thanos.

Gunn’s association with the movie has been rocky. After helming the first two instalments in the ‘GOTG’ series, the director was fired in 2018 by Disney when some old controversial posts surfaced. However, his public apology and handling of the situation thereafter convinced Disney to rehire him in 2019. By then, Gunn had deals in place with DC to direct and ended up making ‘Suicide Squad‘ and ‘Peacemaker‘, both of which have gone over well with audiences and critics.

This is likely to be the last outing of the current Guardians of the Galaxy team, as Gunn hinted. The 55-year-old noted that even if continues work on ‘Guardians’ films, it will include a different band of heroes.
