Hindi crime thriller film ‘A Thursday’, directed by Behzad Khambata, was released on Disney+ Hotstar on February 17, 2022.
The movie, which follows a sinister kidnapping plot, starred Yami Gautam as the antagonist, along with Atul Kulkarni, Neha Dhupia, and Dimple Kapadia, who played the fictional Indian Prime Minister Maya Guru.
Kapadia made her debut in the world of cinema in the 1973 movie ‘Bobby’, and won the Filmfare Award for Best Actress for her performance. After starring in half-a-dozen movies after that, she again won the Filmfare Award for Best Actress for her performance in ‘Saagar’ (1985).
Since then, she has acted in uncountable movies in Hindi, Tamil, Malayali, and has won dozens of awards along the way. Kapadia has three Filmfare Best Actress awards for ‘Bobby’ (1973), ‘Saagar’ (1985), and ‘Rudaali’ (1993), as well as a Filmfare award for the Best Supporting Actress for ‘Krantiveer’ (1994).
Kapadia recently made her Hollywood debut, playing the role of Priya Singh in Christopher Nolan’s mind-bending time travel masterpiece ‘Tenet’ (2020).
Her next immediate movie was ‘A Thursday’ (2022), and Kapadia will also star in the upcoming ‘Brahmastra’ (2022), Ayan Mukerji’s Hindi fantasy-adventure epic starring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy, and Nagarjuna Akkineni, among others.
